We are Sigurd, Elizabeth and Miya Knippenberg.

Elizabeth was born in the United States. Sigurd was born in the Netherlands. In the beginning of 1996 we met online in the Italia Online chat room. We happened to like the same kinds of books and one of us was talking with some people about a fantasy book. The other one joined the conversation and that's how we met. We continued talking in the online chat room and exchanged e-mails. After a while we became friends. That summer Sigurd went to the United States for a summer vacation and stayed at Elizabeth's mother's house for a few weeks. That is when we started dating. In the fall of 1996 we became engaged and Elizabeth went for Christmas to the Netherlands for a vacation. Sigurd moved to the United States in March 1996 and on May 3 1997 we married in Sanford Florida.

Since we married we have lived in DeBary (Florida), Charlotte (North Carolina), Glen Burnie (Maryland), Columbia (Maryland), Laurel (Maryland), Woodbine (Maryland) and Columbia (Maryland). Currently we live in Columbia (Maryland) in a single family house. The house is very close near a tod lot and an outdoor pool and it is close to various restaurants, stores and a fitness center, making it the perfect location for us.

When Sigurd lived with Elizabeth's parents, Elizabeth's mother's pet, Sage, a priarie dog, grew attached to Sigurd. When we moved to Glen Bunie (Maryland) we took Sage with us. Sage died in March 2000. Later that month we found Moira, a cairn terrier, in a petstore and brought her home. In July 2003 our neighbors found a litter of kittens in the median of route 1 in Laurel. We adopted Dagda and Nuada from that litter. In March 2005 Miya was born.
